Administrative Assistant
Qualifications ● Good communication skills both verbal and written. ● Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from staff or community members. ● Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical or legal documents. ● Be able to type letters, reports, forms, newsletters, bulletins, memoranda and board meeting minutes, including materials of a confidential nature; write letters from rough notes or oral instruction. ● Manage calendars and create physical schedules from meetings and notes. ● Enter data into computer databases ● Answer telephones and emails being able to provide general information and relay messages. ● Attend meetings outside of normal work hours when needed. ● Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and crisis situations. ● Make independent decisions within established guidelines and reporting structure. ● Complete simple to complex assignments with a minimum of instruction or supervision. ● Knowledge of basic computer skills with the ability to learn district programs and systems. ● Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor in an active, disruptive and loud environment. ● High school diploma or GED certificate necessary. ● Two years of college or business/secretarial school preferred. ● Experience in a swimming pool or recreation environment is preferred. ● Ability to obtain Red Cross C.P.R., First Aid and possibly Lifeguard certifications.
