FAQ'S
- How do I register? Click the blue box below and fill out the Private Lesson Request form. Those forms will be best matched to an instructor who is available to fit your desires. Requests are filled on a first come-first served basis, depending if instructors are also available at the requested times.
- How much do private lessons cost? Private lessons are $40 dollars per lesson for in-district and $55 dollars per lesson for out-of-district swimmers paid the day of the lesson when you arrive.
- How many classes can I sign up for? As many as you like but we strongly suggest you only purchase one private lesson per child per day.
- Who can teach private lessons? Only TTAD employees can teach private lessons at the Tigard or Tualatin Swim Centers with the permission of the Aquatic Director.
- What if I want to teach my son, daughter or family friend? That is fine, however no outside instructors compensated financially can teach during our public times without authorization.
- Can I reschedule my lessons for a different weekly time? What if I can’t make it one week? Once you are connected with a private lesson instructor, you can schedule with them as you wish.
- When are private lessons offered? Our lessons are dependent on staff availability so the times offered may change month to month. The more flexible your availability, the more likely and sooner we can get your swimmer matched with an instructor.
- What age levels are private lessons available for? Swimmers must be at least 3 years old to participate in private lessons bu there is no age limit. We are happy to teach old dogs new tricks!
- What is covered in a private lesson and is it different from a regular class? While we cover the same things as a regular group lesson, private lessons offer more one-on-one training and allow instructors to tailor the lesson to the swimmer's specific needs. Private lessons are great for swimmers who need a little extra help to improve their swimming.
- How long are private lessons? Thirty minutes.
- How many participants can be in a private lesson? One person per private lesson, two for semi-private lessons.
